Director of Faith Development

Interim Director of Music Ministry
Job Description:
The Interim Director of Music Ministry shall provide musical services as required by members of the Congregation, as well as serve as Choir Director. The Interim Director of Music Ministry works closely with all staff, including the Minister, and with the Music Ministry (which includes the Choir and Musicians, and Audio-Video Engineers) and the Worship Committee to lead a dynamic and worshipful music program for all worship services. The Interim Director of Music Ministry reports to the Minister. This position is for one year.

•    be a spiritual leader;
•    proficiency in conducting;
•    proficiency in arranging;
•    proficiency in keyboard/piano;
•    proficiency in choral direction;
•    enjoy a wide variety of music and musical styles;
•    enjoy encountering and experimenting with new music;
•    work collaboratively and synergistically;
•    articulate the spiritual and religious experiences of Music Ministry, and communicate those experiences at large.

Other aspects of the Job:
•    share River of Grass’ commitment to an inclusive and open Music Ministry composed primarily of volunteers, creating worshipful music in a loving and supportive environment;
•    develop new programs and groups as we grow;
•    understand and articulate Music Ministry’s importance in building and sustaining community;
•    ensure our compliance with fair use and copyright regulations;
•    maintain professionalism and boundaries, according to the Unitarian Universalist Musicians’ Network code of practices;
•    have a regular spiritual life and practice.

Fair Compensation Salary Range:
      ½-time; $15,240-$16,800

Other Package Benefits:
     UUA Pension Plan = 10% salary
     Professional Expenses = 10% salary
     UUA Health Plan = 60% for ½-time
     UUA Dental = 100%
     UUA Life Insurance = 100%
     UUA Long-term Disability Insurance = 100%
     ½-time:  2 weeks vacation, 2 weeks of study, 2 weeks denominational service
     ½-time = up to 24 hours/week
