Congregational Administrator
|
Job Description:
This position is
responsible for a broad variety of functions for the smooth operation
of the congregation with guidance by the minister.
|
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Manages
office procedures
- Manages
facilities schedules
- Handles
purchasing
- Handles
incoming and outgoing communications.
- Manages
office and facilities support and upkeep
- Prepares
& distributes weekly updates and communications
- Prepares,
copies, and arranges for the weekly Order of Service & inserts.
- Distributes
the electronic newsletter.
- Maintains
the congregation’s calendar & report same as needed.
- Maintain
the portions of the congregation’s website as related to above duties.
- Maintains
the member/visitor database & report same as needed.
- Prepares
items for the Events Board.
- Work
with the Treasurer and Finance Chair, handling Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivable, & credit card processing and reporting to the
Treasurer and Finance Chair.

Skills and Abilities:
- Must
possess basic clerical skills (experience with MS Office applications
required)
- Able
to work in a collaborative environment with the Minister, congregation
members, other staff members, and outside vendors (i.e. copier repair
vendor, etc.)
- Must
maintain strict confidentiality
- Must
be dependable and possess “attention to detail” abilities
- Must
be a highly organized self-starter who can work independently or with
minimal guidance
- Excellent
time management skills required
- Must
have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior
administrative/clerical experience desired

Minimum Job
Requirements:
- A.A.,
or higher, in Business Administration, Accounting, or Related Field
- Prior
experience in an administrative, clerical, or secretarial setting
preferred
- Membership
in Association of Unitarian Universalist Administrators (AUUA) (can be
established after hiring)
- Applicants
will have to undergo a background check.

Hours:
This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours/week.
|
Reporting
Structure: The Office Administrator is hired by the
Board of Trustees,
and reports to and is supervised by the Minister.
|
|
Wages: $15-16/hour
